Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus digitalis)

The Pistol Shrimp is one of the loudest animals in the ocean. It snaps a specialized claw shut to create a bubble that reaches 60 miles per hour reaching 218 decibels.

The pressure is strong enough to kill small fish. As the bubble collapses, it reached temperatures close to that of the sun at (4,700℃)!
